Special working platform for aviation maintenance

Working at heights around aircraft of all shapes and sizes can be a difficult task.
It takes a unique climbing platform designed for the job.

BRANACH AND THE RAAF

Unlike traditional step ladders, Branach Step Platforms provide an extra margin of safety and stability. The unique locking hand-rail encloses the worker and allows him to use tools such as drills and rivet guns with both hands.

No more do workers need one hand to balance and one hand to work.

Working close to electrical wiring can be a risk with aluminium platforms but the Branach Platform is built using super-strong fibreglass which is non-conductive and therefore much safer around wiring.

Being fibreglass it is lightweight and can be moved easily between jobs and locations. After work, it folds down to be 200mm wide so it is easy to store in any corner.

Today Branach Platforms can be found working at both Melbourne and Sydney International airports.

Qantas chose the Branach Platform for the new A380 Airbus

The unique Branach product can straddle the wheels of the Airbus and allow the operator to safely access a platform in the undercarriage of the plane which in turn gives access to the wheel housing.

In the general fleet, Branach Platforms are used for fuselage inspections and under wing access.

Branach was selected for maintenance work on both the Boeing 707’s and the fleet of Caribou aircraft.

The lightweight fibreglass feature of the Branach Platforms was the best option for a special requirement of the Caribou. The platforms needed to travel on the aircraft to enable technicians to service the plane in remote areas. Within 2 minutes of landing, the maintenance crew could unfold the Branach product and be ready to work on a stable and safe platform.
